The ChairBag

Are you wondering what chair will see you through the rising tides of global warming? Look no further than the ChairBag which was inspired by sea buoys. Until those tides rise, you can enjoy the functionality of the ChairBag by spilling soda on it (Look Ma, no stains!), using it as outdoor furniture (especially pool-side)... or just sitting on it. Rock Chairs

Bring the outdoors in with these funky chairs by French company Livingstones. We like that you can litter them around your living room as if the tide has messily strewn them about. Check them out at livingstones.fr

The Twig Bench

This super-styley twig bench would be equally at home in the lounge or in the garden. Weighing in at 65-75kg, it's no lightweight and is available only to order in the UK. Sorry you suckers in the States.

PS: Please don't bomb us on account of that comment. Love you really.

Rocking Chair by Tord Boontje

Usually we're not huge fans of tassles, but there's something about this rocking chair that can pull them off. Perhaps it's the simplicity of the design, or the boldness of the red... we don't know why but it just works.

Aiveen Daly Chairs

Aiveen Daly does some gorgeous things with chairs. Her funky vintage upholstery style is so inventive, we wondered if she had a background in clothes design or costuming? Nope, turns out she has a background in business and Russian. It takes all sorts... she says "I was always pinning unusual textiles over chairs to create something unique. I got fed up with the fabrics crumpling to the floor and stepping on rogue pins so decided it was time to pack in the day job and learn how to upholster!"

Now that's our kinda gal.

The Shell Chair

We try not to be too gushy here at A Chair Fantastic. But all that went out the window when we saw The Shell Chair.

There is something so perfect, so pleasing, so stylish about this chair. Invitingly comfortable, yet sharply elegant. Oh yeah, we want one real bad.

The "Match" Chair

This design is so hot it's almost on fire... Made from varnished steel and rubber the Match outdoor chair (designed by the versatile Anna Kraitz) is perfect for a patio (maybe with a glass topped table and the latest edition of Tatler) and only comes in classic black. Flame on.

The Bouloum Lounge Chair

Sounds like furniture designers have all the fun. Apparently the designer of the Bouloum Lounge Chair took it travelling with him in the late 60's, photographing it in various situations along the way. We think he must have had one strong-ass back to lug this chair around; either that or he hired the services of a Sherpa. We would've definitely gone with the Sherpa option - good enough for Sir Edmund Hillary, good enough for us.

Incredibly comfortable, incredibly stylish, this iconic chair can be found in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Right next to the Sherpa tribute exhibit.
